"هیچ قدرتی جز خداوند نیست."۔
“There is no power but of God.”
1 و خدا همه این سخنان را گفت و گفت:
2 من یهوه خدایت هستم که تو را از سرزمین مصر و از خانه بندگی بیرون آوردم.
3 تو جز من خدای دیگری نخواهی داشت.
4 برای خود هیچ مجسمه ای نسازید، یا مانند چیزی که در بالا در آسمان است، یا در زمین پایین، یا در آب زیر زمین است.
5 در برابر آنها سجده مکن و آنها را عبادت مکن، زیرا من یهوه، خدای تو، خدای غیور هستم و تا نسل سوم و چهارم از آنها که از من متنفرند، گناهان پدران را بر فرزندان می‌بینم.
6 و به هزاران نفر از آنانی که مرا دوست دارند و احکام مرا نگاه می دارند رحمت می کنم.
1. And God spake all these words, saying,
2. I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6. And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
د درس خطبه
1 و این واقع خواهد شد که اگر به جدّی به صدای یهُوَه خدایت گوش کنی و تمام اوامر او را که امروز به تو امر می‌کنم رعایت کنی و انجام دهی، یهُوَه خدایت تو را بر تمامی امت‌ها برتری خواهد داد. زمین:
2 و اگر به صدای یهوه خدایت گوش کنی، همه این برکات بر تو خواهد رسید و به تو خواهد رسید.
3 خوشا به حال تو در شهر و خوشا به حال تو در صحرا.
6 خوشا به حال تو وقتی وارد می شوی و خوشا به حال وقتی که بیرون می روی.
7 خداوند دشمنانت را که بر ضد تو قیام می‌کنند، در حضور تو خواهد زد. از یک راه بر ضد تو بیرون خواهند آمد و از هفت راه از پیش تو فرار خواهند کرد.
14 و از هیچ یک از کلماتی که امروز به تو امر می کنم، به دست راست یا چپ مباش تا به دنبال خدایان دیگر بروی تا به آنها خدمت کنی.
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
7 The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
19 و هنگامی که به شما می گویند: به دنبال کسانی باشید که ارواح آشنا و جادوگرانی که می نگرند و غر می زنند، آیا مردمی خدای خود را نمی جویند؟
19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God?
3 اکنون سموئیل مرده بود و تمامی اسرائیل برای او ناله کرده بودند و او را در رامه و در شهر خود دفن کرده بودند. و شائول کسانی را که ارواح آشنا و جادوگران داشتند را از زمین بیرون کرده بود.
4 و فلسطینیان جمع شدند و آمدند و در شونیم اردو زدند و شائول تمام اسرائیل را جمع کرد و در گِلبوع اردو زدند.
5 و چون شائول لشکر فلسطینیان را دید، ترسید و دلش سخت لرزید.
6 و چون شائول از خداوند سؤال کرد، خداوند او را اجابت نکرد، نه به رویا، نه به اوریم و نه به انبیا.
7 آنگاه شائول به خادمان خود گفت: از من زنی بخواهید که دارای روحیه آشنا باشد تا نزد او بروم و از او سؤال کنم. و خادمانش به او گفتند: «اینک، زنی است که در اندور روح آشنا دارد.
8 و شائول خود را مبدل کرد و جامه دیگر پوشید و رفت و دو مرد با او، شبانه نزد آن زن آمدند و او گفت: از تو می‌خواهم که با روح آشنا برای من خدایی کن و او را برای من بیاور. بالا، که من او را به تو نام خواهم آورد.
11 آنگاه زن گفت: چه کسی را نزد تو بیاورم؟ و او گفت: من را ساموئل بیاور.
12 و زن چون سموئیل را دید، با صدای بلند گریه کرد و زن با شائول گفت: چرا مرا فریب دادی؟ زیرا تو شائول هستی.
13 و پادشاه به او گفت: نترس.
14 و شائول متوجه شد که سموئیل است، و با روی خود به زمین خم شد و تعظیم کرد.
15 و سموئیل به شائول گفت: «چرا مرا مضطرب کردی تا مرا بیاوری؟» و شائول پاسخ داد: «من بسیار مضطرب هستم. زیرا فلسطینیان با من جنگ کردند و خدا از من دور شد و دیگر نه به وسیله انبیا و نه با رویا به من پاسخ نمی‌دهد.
16 آنگاه سموئیل گفت: پس چرا از من می‌خواهی که خداوند از تو جدا شده و دشمن تو شده است؟
17 و خداوند همانطور که به زبان من گفته بود با او کرد، زیرا خداوند پادشاهی را از دست تو دریده و به همسایه تو، یعنی به داود داده است.

3 Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.
4 And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and pitched in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they pitched in Gilboa.
5 And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.
6 And when Saul inquired of the Lord, the Lord answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.
7 Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and inquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at En-dor.
8 And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee.
11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.
12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.
13 And the king said unto her, Be not afraid:
14 And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.
15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.
16 Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the Lord is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?
17 And the Lord hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the Lord hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:
18 Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the Lord,

14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit…
27 و ... مردی از شهر بیرون او را ملاقات کرد که مدتها بود شیاطین داشت و لباس نمی پوشید و در هیچ خانه ای نمی ماند، مگر در قبرها.
28 چون عیسی را دید، فریاد زد و در مقابل او افتاد و با صدای بلند گفت: «ای عیسی پسر خدای متعال، من با تو چه کار دارم؟» از تو می خواهم که مرا عذاب مکن.
29 (زیرا به روح ناپاک دستور داده بود که از آن مرد بیرون بیاید. زیرا بارها او را گرفتار کرده بود و او را با زنجیر و بند بسته بودند و بندها را پاره کرد و شیطان به بیابان رانده شد.)

33 سپس شیاطین از آن مرد بیرون آمدند و وارد خوک شدند و گله به شدت از شیب‌هایی به دریاچه دویدند و خفه شدند.
34 چون اطعام آنها را دیدند، فرار کردند و رفتند و در شهر و روستا خبر دادند.
35 سپس بیرون رفتند تا ببینند چه شده است. و نزد عیسی آمدند و مردی را دیدند که شیاطین از او بیرون آمده بودند، در حالی که لباس پوشیده و سرحال به پای عیسی نشسته بود، ترسیدند.
27 And … there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.
29 (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)
30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.
32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.
33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.
34 When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.
35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
12 سپس عیسی دوباره به آنها خطاب کرده، گفت: من نور جهان هستم، کسی که از من پیروی کند در تاریکی راه نخواهد رفت، بلکه نور زندگی خواهد داشت.
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
8 و او گفت: مواظب باشید که فریب نخورید، زیرا بسیاری به نام من خواهند آمد و خواهند گفت: من مسیح هستم. و زمان نزدیک می شود. پس به دنبال آنها نروید.
8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
14 من شبان نیکو هستم و گوسفندان خود را می شناسم و از گوسفندانم شناخته شده ام.
27 گوسفندان من صدای مرا می شنوند و من آنها را می شناسم و به دنبال من می آیند.
28 ... و هرگز هلاک نخواهند شد و هیچ کس آنها را از دست من نخواهد برد.
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 …and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
ما یک خدای برتر و نامتناهی را می شناسیم و می پرستیم. ما پسر او، مسیح واحد را تصدیق می کنیم. روح القدس یا تسلی دهنده الهی؛ و انسان به صورت و شباهت خدا.
We acknowledge and adore one supreme and infinite God. We acknowledge His Son, one Christ; the Holy Ghost or divine Comforter; and man in God's image and likeness.
ذهن الهی به درستی تمام اطاعت، محبت و قدرت انسان را می طلبد. هیچ رزروی برای وفاداری کمتر انجام نمی شود.
Divine Mind rightly demands man's entire obedience, affection, and strength. No reservation is made for any lesser loyalty.
جهل به خدا دیگر پله ایمان نیست. تنها ضمانت اطاعت، درک درست اوست که شناخت درست او حیات جاودانی است.
Ignorance of God is no longer the stepping-stone to faith. The only guarantee of obedience is a right apprehension of Him whom to know aright is Life eternal.
برای اطمینان از پیشرفت خود، باید بیاموزیم که محبت های ما در کجا قرار می گیرد و چه کسی را به عنوان خدا می شناسیم و از آنها اطاعت می کنیم. اگر عشق الهی به ما نزدیک‌تر، عزیزتر و واقعی‌تر می‌شود، ماده تسلیم روح می‌شود. اشیایی که دنبال می‌کنیم و روحیه‌ای که نشان می‌دهیم دیدگاه ما را آشکار می‌کند و نشان می‌دهد که چه چیزی برنده می‌شویم.
To ascertain our progress, we must learn where our affections are placed and whom we acknowledge and obey as God. If divine Love is becoming nearer, dearer, and more real to us, matter is then submitting to Spirit. The objects we pursue and the spirit we manifest reveal our standpoint, and show what we are winning.

Jesus taught the way of Life by demonstration, that we may understand how this divine Principle heals the sick, casts out error, and triumphs over death. … By his obedience to God, he demonstrated more spiritually than all others the Principle of being.

Every trial of our faith in God makes us stronger. The more difficult seems the material condition to be overcome by Spirit, the stronger should be our faith and the purer our love. The Apostle John says: "There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love casteth out fear ... . He that feareth is not made perfect in Love." Here is a definite and inspired proclamation of Christian Science.
بشر باید بیاموزد که شر قدرت نیست. به اصطلاح استبداد آن فقط یک مرحله از نیستی است. علم مسیحی پادشاهی شر را غارت می کند،
Mankind must learn that evil is not power. Its so-called despotism is but a phase of nothingness. Christian Science despoils the kingdom of evil,

As named in Christian Science, animal magnetism or hypnotism is the specific term for error, or mortal mind. It is the false belief that mind is in matter, and is both evil and good; that evil is as real as good and more powerful. This belief has not one quality of Truth. It is either ignorant or malicious.
In reality there is no mortal mind, and consequently no transference of mortal thought and will-power. Life and being are of God. In Christian Science, man can do no harm, for scientific thoughts are true thoughts, passing from God to man.

Every function of the real man is governed by the divine Mind. The human mind has no power to kill or to cure, and it has no control over God's man. The divine Mind that made man maintains His own image and likeness. The human mind is opposed to God and must be put off, as St. Paul declares. All that really exists is the divine Mind and its idea, and in this Mind the entire being is found harmonious and eternal. The straight and narrow way is to see and acknowledge this fact, yield to this power, and follow the leadings of truth.

If animal magnetism seems to alleviate or to cure disease, this appearance is deceptive, since error cannot remove the effects of error. Discomfort under error is preferable to comfort. In no instance is the effect of animal magnetism, recently called hypnotism, other than the effect of illusion. Any seeming benefit derived from it is proportional to one's faith in esoteric magic.

Animal magnetism has no scientific foundation, for God governs all that is real, harmonious, and eternal, and His power is neither animal nor human. Its basis being a belief and this belief animal, in Science animal magnetism, mesmerism, or hypnotism is a mere negation, possessing neither intelligence, power, nor reality, and in sense it is an unreal concept of the so-called mortal mind.
The mild forms of animal magnetism are disappearing, and its aggressive features are coming to the front. The looms of crime, hidden in the dark recesses of mortal thought, are every hour weaving webs more complicated and subtle. So secret are the present methods of animal magnetism that they ensnare the age into indolence, and produce the very apathy on the subject which the criminal desires.

Superstition and understanding can never combine. When the final physical and moral effects of Christian Science are fully apprehended, the conflict between truth and error, understanding and belief, Science and material sense, foreshadowed by the prophets and inaugurated by Jesus, will cease, and spiritual harmony reign.

The Scripture, "Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many," is literally fulfilled, when we are conscious of the supremacy of Truth, by which the nothingness of error is seen; and we know that the nothingness of error is in proportion to its wickedness. He that touches the hem of Christ's robe and masters his mortal beliefs, animality, and hate, rejoices in the proof of healing, — in a sweet and certain sense that God is Love.

A louder song, sweeter than has ever before reached high heaven, now rises clearer and nearer to the great heart of Christ; for the accuser is not there, and Love sends forth her primal and everlasting strain.
